Our Engagement

I always teased Bobby that I knew him so well that he would never be able to surprise me when he asked me to marry him. I figured the slightest weird comment or suspicious suggestion and I would know it was gonna happen! Boy was I ever wrong! I think he is very pleased to know that I couldn't have been more surprised. Here's how it happened.....

Let me start of the story by saying (and anyone that works with me can vouch for this) I am maybe the worst Monday person on the planet. Well, it was a Monday and I had one of those days that never seems to end. By a little bit before 5 I called Bobby and told him I was gonna have to stay late to catch up on paperwork. He very smoothly convinced me to go home because he said he had gotten me dinner and told me he would go back up to work with me later if I needed to.

So, I drove home walked up to the front door and saw that the lights were out and I could see a candles flickering. For some reason, my first thought was "Crap, I forgot to pay the light bill!" I opened the door and saw tons of flowers and candles everywhere and rose petals all over the floor! I know it sounds crazy, but I still just hadn't gone there yet that this could be "it"! I thought maybe he was just doing something nice for me! There was really sweet music playing and then he called me over but I couldn't see him because he was around the corner. When I turned the corner he was in a suit (not the normal attire for my jeans and a Tech polo boyfriend) and at that moment it all hit me and I became an absolute mess! I was so excited and shocked that I have trouble remembering all the little details of the next few seconds. Later, I asked him questions like "Did you get down on one knee?" "Did I ever say yes?" because it was seriously maybe the most shocking out of body experience I've ever had. To top it all of he had my favorite food (pizza from Stella's), champagne, salad, the whole works! I couldn't ask for a more sweet and amazing fiance who knew how to make this night so "me". I attached some pictures but unfortunately the only camera I could find at the time was my iphone (which I know I am going to hate myself for 10 years from now!).

This is where our story begins......

Well, this is where our blog begins at least! I've been toying with the idea of starting a blog for quite some time now, mainly because my sister has a blog which I can't leave comments on because I'm not a member of the "blog" community. I've decided the time is right because Bobby asked me to marry him on March 15 and I answered "YES" with all the enthusiasm in the world! We are so excited to continue to grow in our relationship and become husband and wife. Four years ago we met and became best friends, 3 and 1/2 years ago we started dating, and in 1 year will be married and we can't wait! I can't promise this blog will be exciting, grammatically correct, or kept current; but I will do my best to share tid-bits of our lives for our dear friends and family to keep up with us.
